Dr. Dalia Rotstein is an associate professor of medicine at the University of Toronto and neurologist specialized in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases. Her research is dedicated to exploring MS, NMOSD, and MOGAD in diverse populations, with the goal of promoting more inclusive care, and improved and more equitable outcomes. Her recent work has focused on investigation of risk factors for and onset of MS after Epstein Barr Virus infection. She is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in two rare demyelinating conditions, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease (MOGAD)
Her clinical practice is at St. Michael's Hospital, in the Barlo MS Centre. She completed neurology residency at University of Toronto where she was co-chief resident and MS fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s hospital/Harvard University, where she also earned a Master of Public Health degree. She founded and has led the NMOSD Multi-Disciplinary Clinic at St. Michael's Hospital since 2020. She is the Principal Investigator for CANOPTICS, the first Canadian national prospective study to investigate adults with NMOSD, MOG Antibody Disease, and other atypical demyelinating conditions.
